I just had some in a salad about a month ago. Before that I hadn't had any since childhood! Man were they good!
my parents have a tree in their back yard. i do miss that tree.
Do you ever make fig jam? Fresh figs are hard to come by here, but I once roasted some. Once with pork, then made a frozen yoghurt. Sigh.
i am the same way. ;-)btw, i love the stick earrings you were/are making.
oh, yum!(i owe you an email. it's been crazy around here)
Dang, girl. But don't you need some cheese to keep those suckers from falling off?!
Yes, Marissa, you do need cheese to keep them from falling off the bread. A nice, thick layer of goat cheese, in fact. And you really out to sprinkle it with black pepper and drizzle it with honey, too.
a couple days ago, i went to 47th street for jewelry errands and a guy was wheeling a huge crate of the biggest figs i've ever seen. they were so beautiful that all the dudes on the street were ogling them and catcalling; it was hilarious. i haven't been able to get figs off the mind since.
Our next door neighbor gave me 6 figs from his tree last week and I wished that you were here to share them with you.Our fig tree has grown but don't know how long it will take to bear fruit.Love the figs and goat cheese - learned that feta cheese is made from sheep's milk but maybe you knew that!Love, Mom
I am so, so envious. Figs are my very favorite thing in the world. Wish I had some this year!
