Sunrise at Hoodview

While the bike riding was awesome, the best part of the weekend was camping with Barry at the aptly named Hoodview campground at Timothy Lake. We woke before sunrise, built a fire, made coffee, and watched the mist rise off the lake while the sky started to lighten up. Perfection.

The weekend was just a little taste of what's to come when we go on our summer vacation in a week, and this little taste has me psyched. That's right - we're taking our summer vacation in the middle of September. Since we're no longer bound by a school-year calendar and since it doesn't officially end for a few weeks anyhow, we're not saying goodbye to summer yet. Anyone else holding on hard to summer?

such lovely sights indeed.
my favorite part of being in the outdoors is making coffee on an open fire. you're a girl after my own heart!
so happy to see that you are getting to spend some precious time with your sweetie in the beautiful Oregon countryside.

We've decided to wait until September as well - we're headed to a cottage next week and hoping to camp at the end of the month. I can't wait. I'm hoping the weather is as beautiful as it is this week! Take care and have a great vacation! Your camping trip looks and sounds like it was wonderful!

This summer was a tough one for me so I am one of them that is ready for fall. A change of season a change of mindset I hope! Those pictures though, make me want to run to the woods and never return!

We're having a heatwave here so there are still lots of picnics, water fights, and outdoor adventures to be had.
And Hubby and I always used to take our summer vacation in September. And our kids better be smart enough to skip school because we will continue to do so.

This looks like such an amazing trip! I can't wait to see where you go on your "summer trip". I'm looking forward to fall, but you're totally allowed to hang on to summer ;) Nice new-to-you bike, but the way!

i'm glad that you had a good trip! personally, i'm excited that the kids are back in school. it means i have to get up earlier, but that means more time to get things done during the day. i still am hanging on to the summer weather, though. perfect for afternoon walks. yay!

How beautiful...I am going camping in a week myself, and I need it so very badly. I am in search of a bit of water and no crowds...

We usually take out summer vacation at the end of September/first of October. Of course, we head home to Santa Barbara.

This year, we're staying put and I'm clinging to "summer" with all my might! Heck, I even had a summer cold this week.

Lovely photos, btw!

I haven't left the city once yet this summer, but I'm hoping to go camping in the Gulf Islands in September. I love the coolness of the air and the changing leaves in the bottom left-hand corner of Canada. :)
