Over and Over and Over Again

Friends, I'm in a bit of a rut. I know that I'm a creature of habit and that I thrive on routine and pattern, but I'm thinking my routine needs a bit of tweaking. I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is that needs some shaking up in my life right now, which is why I've been a little absent here recently. I'll let you know when I figure it out.
And a side note... something that needs no figuring out: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were phenomenal at the Crystal Ballroom last night. Dad, Peter, and Jennifer, you're in for quite a show in NYC in October.

Awww. Miss Sulu, I'm sad to hear you're in a rut. But out of ruts comes new growth and change, right? At least we can hang out together, since I'm in a total rut too!!!! Hang in there, my friend.

Oh those pesky ruts! The longer you stay in them, the deeper they get.
But you will find your way out, I'm sure.
The first step is to recognize you're in one and you've already done that. Go easy on yourself.
Be patient. Relax.
Wishing you all the best!

Hi Woo, trying this again...when I heard your Mom
talking to you about going to the Nick Cave
concert I was thrilled and excited, thinking you guys would be joining us in NYC!!!!...only to learn
you were seeing him in Portland!!!...darn!!!!...but I
was happy to read that you enjoyed the show...will
give you my opinion in a few weeks.
Thanks again for your visit...trouble is now we miss you more...if that's even possible. Mom is
doing really well, great morale and good walking progress in spite of some still bothersome discomfort...tough lady!!!
Ruts come and go...but guys like you and Barry are consistently cool...I know you'll dig out!!!
Love, Dad

Your Dad's comment almost made me cry. What a wonderful family you have. I too, hope that you get out of your rut soon. I know from experience they are not fun, but I also know they are totally useful! What about that old saying about doing something you've never done before? That might be neat.

Oh gees.
I feel like a bi-yatch because I know I'll see you in real life tomorrow and I'm wondering if it's weird or not if I mention this post then. Anyway-I wish I knew a getting out of rut solution for you-but alas...
hugs to you friend.

I know how you feel, I am in a rut, too! I have been trying to find my way out of it as well. I hope it gets better for you! Maybe you need to try a new hobby? (but don't drop the current one, your jewelry is too fabulous!)

Sorry to hear you are in a rut - I hate those! But when I find myself in one, which I inevitably do, I try to just change a few little things and it's amazing how much that helps. Just walking a different route to work or going out to breakfast instead of eating at home, trying a new craft, or a new technique or material with my current one, gives me an ever so slightly new outlook. Be extra good to yourself and just try to relax in "the space between", which is really what a rut is. And can I just say? You have the sweetest Dad!!
