On Our Fire Escape...

I finished a devastating book lent to my by a blogging friend
We watch parallel parking attempts - some skillful, some not
I catch interesting bits of conversations wafting up from the bar five stories below

We drink red wine by candlelight
I watch Mount Hood disappear into darkness
to the east in the evening
Where is your bit of outdoor space? What do you do there?

I can't stop blogging about my outside space, my garden + my front porch. What? The property came with a house + an inside?????? I recently forgot about all that inside. Oh, + with the wireless, I can even write this + blog from either location.

we sit in front of our chiminea now and plan lots of diy and renovation projects. Lately I have trying not to do that and talk about other things not related to the house.

I was in century21 in nyc on saturday and this woman was gushing over my necklace that you made and demanded to know where she could buy one like it. Of course I told her!

The front porch...the perfect place to prop up the feet and watch the world go by...read, blog...OR the rocks that surround the Airstream. From there I can see the whole world, watch the sun set...return to myself.

I love our yard, but our back deck especially. Especially in the the summer, there's a deck above giving it shade and with the trees and wisteria vine that I trying to train, it gives the feeling of a lovely green room. And now that we have better internet access I can take my laptop out there - sweeeeeet!

dinner with friends on the deck! the rest of my outside time centers around two active girls and a chlorinated pool. :)

That sounds so romantic! Ooo and Erinn, I have longed for a chiminea for years! Maybe this will be the summer we get one.

We have cafe lights in our back yard and sometimes Jay smokes a pipe out there while I have some red wine. What a nice topic Susan. And your new necklaces look so delicious, like candy.

It is my back yard, there's a bench next to a gold fish pond that loves a 6 pm Gin and Tonic while you watch the fish chase each other.

yesterday from my back deck I heard a golfer cursing...and for some strange reason I found it amusing.

I love time in my backyard. BBQ and beer with friends is the best! What are you doing tonight? :)

What a beautiful post! My favorite spot is a small area in the corner of our front yard that has several small trees kind of enclosing it and a thick blanket of moss. I drag a chair out there and read, knit, or sew or just daydream.
