Like a Raindance for the Sun

My attempt at using bright beads and colorful indoor surroundings to chase away the weather's dreariness here in Portland was actually somewhat successful. The sun poked through the clouds a bit this weekend, but now we're back to cold, overcast weather. Coffee and more punchy-colored beads to the rescue.

Besides the weather, a few things that have been itching at the back of my brain for a while are bothering me this week. I'll check back here once my mood lifts. I have a feeling it may do so when the clouds do the same.

(The colorful earrings are great fun though!)

Oh Suzy,

You know me - MOM ALERT - what's itching at the back of your brain?
You know me - I want to scratch it or put powder on it or make it go away!

Hope that when you read this it is all gone! Love, Mom

I hear ya sister… I'm struggling too! I'm about to hit a tanning bed… it's getting scary. I might buy one of those light therapy lamps from gaiam. If I do, you can come over and we can drink margaritas and pretend we're on a summery beach! ;)

You are welcome to come visit in Tucson anytime, where we have nothing but predictable sunshine and stifling heat: 104 degrees yesterday. But I'd gladly endure the sunny old sun to your rainy old rain anyday. Kudos to you for brightening your mood with colorful lovelies all around (I especially love your turquoise, red, and black earring creations!). I hope your itchy thoughts are soon soothed. Take care.

Does the memory of the smell of a 100degree subway station help any?

although i'm very happy to be back in portland, this weather is doing a number on me too.
the coffee helps.
good music helps too.
since you like hiphop & dance music, i recommend Santogold and/or Roisin Murphy.
These ladies will make you feel sunnier. promise.

Oh do it again, do it again....whatever you did before to make the sun pop out!

Beads are so much better. I ended up writing maudlin poetry. That just makes you sink deeper. Glad the sun and summer are up your way.
