Off The Wagon

No sooner did I post about my spending discipline at Goodwill than I came across a lovely cashmere sweater there in one of my favorite shades of blue for $6.99. It would have been a crime to pass it up. My will was broken... temporarily. And I should have kept my trap shut about stopping my ugly buy-and-return cycle, too, as this dress is going back to it's former home as soon the store opens this morning. I couldn't resist the fabric. But a blurry photo of it will have to suffice. It is not moving into my closet.

Oh I just love cherries and are those butterflies, too?
It does look like a lovely dress on you- blurry & all.
I don't think life is supposed to be rules of "all or nothing" - just all treats or no treats OR only apts or just houses. I think mixing things up sometimes is a beautiful thing!

i related to that post a lot susan... also trying to curb my "but it's on sale/ at goodwill/ on ebay" habit. however, i agree that 6.99 cashmere is impossible to resist... and that dress, blurry or no, does look cute :) xox

uh oh! it always happens that way. last week jeff said that from now on he would not be eating fish and chips. never. again. two days later we were perusing the specials menu at from our barstools at a great local place when he announced. ooh fish and chips, i'm having that! sometimes all you need is a taste once in a while. that's all i'm saying.

So I am an enabler by trait. That dress is too cute not to keep!

You should *not* have posted that dress if you wanted encouragement to return it! It is *darling* and obviously, even in a blurry shot, looks fantastic on you.

Oh, to have willpower!

Keep the dress, it's so pretty on you! Or return it if you must. The minute I was crowing about only spending $36 at Sheep and Wool, I succumbed to the Koigu mill ends for sale at my local yarn store. Oops.

I'm not being helpful, am I?

Curbing your spending means resisting the impulse buys on stuff that's cute and cheap and cluttery and basically meaningless. When you find something genuinely useful and pleasing to you at such a good price, you've got to go for it. Congratulate yourself on finding a genuine bargain!

Oh Susan it's been far too long since I have stopped by for a visit. I am glad to have a chance too catch up. I hope you are well.

I have to laugh about your "Goodwill Discipline". I have none when it comes too goodwill. Everything is such a bargain that it's hard to resist. I just have to stay away. So I guess that sort is kind of like discipline right?
That dress looks devine on you. If you do return it...at least you have a picture to remember it by.

Glad to hear you and Barry managed some time off together. Sounds like you had a nice hike. As for the slug...eek!
